CRISTIANO RONALDO will not win the Ballon d’Or this year according to Paulo Dybala because of Luka Modric.
The Portuguese forward had an impressive year individually in terms of silverware after leading Real Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League title.
The 33-year-old scored 44 goals in all competitions last season, including an incredible 15 in the European competition.
He is among the favourites for the Ballon d’Or at the end of the year alongside the likes of Modric, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
However, his team-mate Dybala does not believe the former Manchester United forward will win a record sixth prize.
“Ronaldo? He is a simple person and when you watch him on tv or social media he looks different,” he said.
“He is just like us, he is 100% focused on every training and he likes to make jokes, especially with Cancelo.
“He always tells him that he already speaks better Italian than him.
“Varane should win it for the trophies that he won but I think Modric will win it, he has already won The Best FIFA award.”
Dybala went on to say that he believed Juventus should have lifted the trophy last season.
“Last year Juventus were the best team. We lost against Real Madrid but they didn’t prove to be better than us.
“If we had qualified against them we’d win the title, there wasn’t a better team than Juventus.”
